Mammal Study

Thanks to the Missouri Department of Conservation we were able to examine furs, skulls, and tracks of 10 plus Missouri Mammals. While doing so the students determined what type of food the animal eats by looking at the teeth in the skull. Were they a carnivore, omnivore or herbivore? The furs and tracks helped us understand how they were adapted to their environment. Did they live on the prairie, forest or wetland? We also had the treat of Mile’s dad come and share his collection of artifacts found on their family walks.
